Five decisions for an international website brief
A working checklist for small teams preparing their next digital project.
1. Define one audience
Describe who the page is for and what they already know. A local customer and an overseas buyer may need different context. Avoid trying to answer every possible question on one page.
2. Choose one next step
Decide whether the visitor should ask for a quote, read a specification or send a project brief. Write the exact information you need for that next step.
3. List the approved source material
Gather the business name, service descriptions, contact information and images you have permission to publish. Label missing items so they are not replaced with invented claims.
4. Separate the build from later updates
Count pages and sections, identify languages and required files, and distinguish initial revisions from future updates quoted per request. Compare those needs with the published service scope.
5. Check the handoff
Test key links, contact actions and small-screen readability. Keep the final approved copy and a dated list of updates. Ask for a scope review before adding unplanned work.
